After seeing the Oscars, I was left intrigued and curious why this film won a lot of awards. Since dvd is still not available at that time, I decided to maximize the usage of internet. I downloaded the movie and checked what this film has to offer.

Slumdog Millionaire is a story of three individuals, surviving and facing all the realities in life. The story is focused on Jamal, who joined the game show and left everyone wondering why he was able to answer difficult questions though he was not able to go to school. It also shows the wonderful culture of India, which is rich in beliefs and heritage.

The story was great. Simple but deep. It tells us that everything is set and planned. Our destiny is already written, whatever it is.
Indeed, as what Time Magazine said, the movie is a buoyant hymn to life and is worth to celebrate.

Sarah and John Lloyd fever is on..

Last February 25, Mae and i decided to chill out and watch a movie. I forgot that it was the opening day of the follow movie of Sarah and Lloydi.

As expected, people were all in line to get tickets and to get inside the cinema houses. Good thing we were able to get good seats.

So here's my review for the movie"

" You Changed My life, the second installment of the Sarah and John Lloyd team up surpasses its prequel, A Very Special Love. The movie is funny and has really the kilig factor. The first movie is a complete fairy tale while the new one tells us how Miggy and Laida lives their fairy tale lives. A perfect valentine movie and it really brings out the kilig in you. It really has exceeded my expectations and I never thought that the movie could really give an extreme impact to its viewers. "

After watching the movie, I notice that everyone has smiles on their faces. How the movie presented the lives of the lead characters gives somehow a hope to all that there is still that special someone out there who will complete your so called fairy tale life. uuuu

What's the big deal with Valentines day? For me its just an ordinary day. Others might be having extravagant and fabulous dinner with their loved ones. Me? I just had dinner with my friends and sipped a cup of coffee the whole night.

This experience was so memorable for me. Last January ( this is a late post actually ), we had our wild water adventure in Davao City. It was costly though ( P2000.00 / pax ) but it was all worth it. It was a whole day affair. We started out at 9 am and ended by 330pm. THe rafting time was almost 4 hours with several stops along the way. We may ended up with cramped arms and wounded knees, but the scenery and the experience was all worth it. Hope I can try it again.

After seeing a lot of travel guides in the net, I was inspired to make one Recently, I just had my pre-summer vacation in Bohol. It was my first time and everything was unplanned. Good thing that we were able to survive and explore the whole Bohol Province even on a tight budget.

I hope this guide will be very helpful especially to those first time travelers in Bohol and will give you a heads up on the amount to shell out of your pockets.

How to get there:
Bohol is accessible in many ways. In our part, we took the Davao-Cebu route. Major domestic airlines like Cebu Pacific, PAL Express and Air Philippines offer direct flights to Cebu from Davao.

Once in Cebu, you have 2 options to get to Tagbilaran. One is through RORO, a bigger boat that carries more or less 300 persons a trip. The trip could take up to 4 hours but its much cheaper. Prices are usually between P200 to P300 Pesos. Since we want to maximize our time, we took the fast craft. It is a smaller boat but its much faster. Good thing it has air conditioning and you can watch a movie during the entire duration of the travel. Travel time is also faster since it will take you a maximum of 2 hours. Though its much expensive since you have to prepare P500 to P 800 per one way, depending on the carrier. A tip to travelers, much better if you leave Cebu early in the morning or take the first trip, mostly by 5 to 6 am.

When you're already in Tagbilaran, that's the adventure begins. Outside the port, a lot of people will offer you car rentals and tour services. This is very helpful to those backpackers and travelers who have not made any bookings or arrangements beforehand. Car rentals are between P2000 to P2500 ( up to 6 pax ) and for bigger groups ( up to 13 pax ), vans are available too. Price ranges are between P3000 to P4000. I advise all travelers to really rent a van or a car. It is the cheapest and convenient way in getting around Bohol. Trust me.

In need of a guide? Need not to worry. The driver himself will be your guide. So all you have to do it relax in your cars and enjoy the scenery of Bohol. And by the way, prepare your cash for the fees on spots that you're about to go.

Major Tourist Spots
Blood Compact Site - No entrance fee

Baclayon Church ( One of the oldest church in the Philippines ) - No entrance fee. Though if you want to see their museum, prepare P25.00. Bad thing is that cameras are not allowed there

Loboc Museum - No entrance fee

Loboc River Cruise - A fee of P300.00 is needed which includes buffet lunch and the boat ride

Tarsier sight seeings - No entrance fee. Its along the highway. It up to you and the driver where to stop.

Man made Forest - No entrance fee

Chocolate Hills Park - prepare P50.00 for the entrance fee

Butterfly Garden - P20.00 entrance fee

On our whole day affair in Bohol, we were able to go to all those places. We started at 830 am and ended by 4pm. Most of the time are consumed because of traveling since those destinations are apart from each other. Too bad we were not able to go to the other spots due to lack of time. But to think of, each part of Bohol is a scenery.

Your visit in Bohol wont be complete without visiting Panglao Island. Its a nearby island near Tagbilaran and travel time can take up to 30 to 45 mins by car from Tagbilaran. So if you really wanna go there, you'll have to add P500.00 one way. The stay there is worth it. So if you're not in a hurry, spend the night in Panglao.

There are many resorts that you can choose when you're in Panglao. Among are Bohol Beach Club and Alona Kew. But prices are way too high. Rates can go as high as P3000 to P6000 a night. If you want to spend less, then go straight ahead to Dumaluan Beach Resort. The resort is divided into 2 parts, the main Dumaluan Resort which is a little expensive ( the lowest rate is P1300 ) and the other Dumaluan, just beside it ( rooms can go as low as P600 ). For us, we were able to get a standard room which is good for two persons with an overnight rate of P750.00 plus additional P100.00 for the extra pax. Cheap but still a good find. The room has a fan, a queen size bed, a private cr and your own veranda.

For side trips, you can rent a banca that can take you on an island hopping and dolphin watching. Rates can go between P2500 to P4000 depending on the season and the number of passengers.

Food is quite expensive in Panglao. The cheapest we can find there are grilled goods ( chicken, pork, fish ) with prices between 60 to 100 each. Nightlife is also not so-so on Panglao. You can go ahead and gate rash to the other side of the resort which is Bohol Beach Club. That night, there were acoustic band performers that will serenade the night away.

When leaving Bohol, dont forget to bring with you pasalubongs. Some of the favorites are Peanut Kisses, Piyaya and Kalamay. A lot of novelty shops and pasalubong stores can be found in the city proper. In the port, prepare P12.00 for the terminal fee. Good thing its cheap.

So here's the rundown of the expenses for the 2 days and 1 night stay in Bohol:

Fast craft ride : P900.00 roundtrip

Car rental: P3000 ( P2000 for Bohol day tour and P1000 for Panglao round trip ) divided by 3 ( since there are 3 of us that time ) = P1000.00/ pax

Entrance fee to major tourist spots: P400.00

Panglao accomodations : P850.00 ( divided by 3 equals = P285.00 / pax )

Tagbilaran port terminal fee: P 12.00

Which means, you can explore Bohol for only P2597.00 each person. The more you are in your group, the lesser you will spend.

Going to Bohol is not that costly. If you know how to budget and look for good finds, everything will be okay. To those people who are planning to go to Bohol, I hope that this blog has help you and I also hope that you are considering in going to Bohol of one of these days because as what I always say to my friends, we need to enjoy life. Be in places you've never been to before its too late. Its not with how much you spent, its the experience that always count.

Its the first time I appreciated a Thai film. The Love of Siam is not your ordinary love story. The story is simple yet complicated in some ways. I have nothing more to say about this movie except for well done.

After watching the movie, I realized that love is really magical. I felt very inspired and had those kilig moments too. I can't also help but had tears.Huhuhu

Last week, me and my close friends from my previous work had our Christmas dinner and get together at Entree Apo View Hotel. It was my first time there and though very expensive, it was worth it. The food was great especially the Buttered Dory which was so delicious. Too bad Joey and Faith wasn't able to come with us.

This is Totzkie ( I really have difficulties in pronouncing his name ) and he is so cute. THis is Ante Elsa's new pet and after seeing hi9m, I want to take him home.

I really miss having a pet dog. My previous pet dogs ( namely Coaty, Mozart, Beethoven, Dougan, etc ) were really good pets and may they rest in peace. UUUU. I really love puppies and dogs. It just changed when Pumpkin came to our lives. Hehehe. Dont worry Pumpkin, you are still the best!

I feel relaxed and stress free right now. Christmas vacation has begun which means no work for almost two weeks, no masteral classes and nothing to worry and to think about. Good thing im done with my report in my Financial Management class (wheew ) and all I have to think about is what to do and where to go these days.

I don't have to worry if I gained weight because its Christmas. After attending a lot of parties everywhere, for sure a pound or two has been added to me. Its just fine, as long as i'm enjoying it.

Pre- Summer Trips

I am uber uber excited for our pre- summer trip to Cebu and Bohol. Together with my sister and my friend, we're scheduled to have our trip by last week of January. We got cheap plane tickets thanks to Cebu Pacific's fare promo. I am really looking for this trip and I really cant wait for January to come.

I promised myself that this year, i'll go to many places as possible. Im also crossing my fingers and hoping that our Boracay and Puerto Gallera trip will pursue. That's why I really have to be always updated with the airline promos. UUUU

Travelling is really one of my passions. This is a perfect way to explore the world and at the same time, a very effective way to unwind and relieve stress. It okay to spend your hard earned money in these kind of stuff because it is the experience that you get that is really priceless.

After the tragic loss of my w580i phone, im now back and connected to the world with the phone I just got a week ago. Once you've tried using a Sony Ericsson handset, you dont wanna try any other handset. So up for my S.E. K800i Cybershot phone.

Pros:
- 3.2. mega pixel camera
- xenon flash and auto focus feature
- long battery life
- its a 3g phone

Cons:
- bulky
- joystick navigator
- unstable software
- music player is average ( compared to the walkman phones )

This is still a good buy. THe phone itself and its features are perfect for the kind of lifestyle that I have. UUUU

Happy Teacher's Day

Last Friday, the whole world celebrated Teacher's Day. Its the perfect day to give tributes to our dear teachers who were our second parents and who molded of of who we are right now. Being a teacher is really a tough job. You don't have any idea how hard it is to become one. In our school, we had a mass and a short program wherein children gave tokens to their mentors. Luckily i was able to receive flowers and rice and noodles and bananas and mangoes.. Weird and funny yet very sweet.

I also would like to take this opportunity to than all my teacher since Kindergarten till my Graduate school. Now i know how it feels being one. For all the hard works and challenges you've given me, a many thanks. I am who I am right now because of you people. ( char, seryoso mode. uuu )

One unplanned Saturday night, my friends together with my sister watched for the nth time Vice Ganda and Anton Diva on their show at the Venue. As expected, the show was a blast. Of the three shows they had here in Davao, this one was the jam packed, crowded and really fun. Gates were open at almost 7pm and seats were all taken. One of my favorite shows is Survivor. Their latest installment Survivor Gabon marked history for me though this is not my favorite season of all. If you know Randy, the 49 year old that acts like a 2 year old boy, well he just made my day. The cast aways hate him. I hate him. He is rude and thinks he knows it all. Too bad, its just his time to go.

The tribal council was a blast. Bob gave a fake immunity idol to Randy. Randy thought that its just okay for him to piss off everyone since he will be safe but he was wrong. After the voting which is five against three in favor of Randy, Randy confidently handed to Jeff the idol. To his surprise, Jeff said " this is not the hidden immunity idol". Randy and Corine were in shock. The alliance of Kenny and Crystal ( once were underdogs ) cant help but laugh. And I was laughin out loud too. It was really great to see Randy's ass being kicked.

Survivor is really a test of survival. The power to outwit, outplay and outlast others sre the key factors to win the game. One thing that is really hard for this game is trust for you dont know whom to trust to. I just hope that anyone from the underdogs wins the game.

Saturday Wii and Burger Party

Last Saturday, Mae and Dan invited us to join them in their Wii tournament and burger party. I really had a great time. Playing Wii is so much fun. The game console is really fantastic since its interactive ( but i'd still go for psp ). Its a perfect way to lose weight. I was sweating the whole while we were playing boxing. The food was great too. Loved the burger and most especially, the moist Chips Ahoy chocolate chips cookies ( yummmm). Thanks Mae and Dan for the treat!!!!!!

Up for my Master's Degree

Wow. It feels great that im back to school again. Im finally taking up my masters degree in one of the universities here in D.C.. Haha. One thing that scares me of taking up masteral classes is because of thesis. It really frightens me. The defense, the research, the pressure. But im now ready to face that fear. Good luck to me.

I am a true blue Kapamilya. Ever since I was a kid, I always love watching ABS-CBN. Network wars has never ended till now. Others are claiming that they are number one but they are really not ( you know who I am referring to..hehe ). ABS has always been and will always be number one. One thing I really love about them is their station id's. Their creative team is a genius. For this year, a big KUDOS to them for another original and unique christmas station id. The concept was cool. The time where artists where trying trying to draw images reminds us our childhood years wherein when we want something, we draw it. Wishing, hoping and praying that we'll get what we want. The station id really has an impact and the message is really inspiring. Indeed, may katuparan ang hiling sa kapamilyang kapiling.

Prison Break

I am currently addicted to Prison Break. My friends were right. This is really addictive just like Sex and the City ( still nothing beats it ). If you compare it to a book, it's more than a page turner. After buying the dvd version ( somewhere in Ilustre for a cheaper price.. sorry chairman. haha ), I immediately headed home and watched the series. Everything was done perfectly. The plot, the characters and the twists of the story makes you wanna watch the series straight up and non stop. Im done with the first season and I cant wait to see the upcoming episodes. My sister too who is not a fan of American series, suprisingly is now hooked and glued to it. A big kudos to the cast, staff and production crew of Prison Break. Whoever you are, you just made someones life exciting and thrilling.

Vice, One Of My Vices.

I am a huge fan of Vice Ganda. Watching her ( literally him ) is indeed a fun moment for me. If you didn't know, Vice is one of the talented and funniest stand up performers/artists/ comedians / singers in the country. Seeing her in her shows helps me forget all my problems and at the same time he/she relieves the stress in me. Her punch lines has left me laughin out loud and had made me gone crazy. I am so excited and looking forward in her upcoming show with Anton Diva again next week.

Watching them ( the stand up performers/ comedians ) is one way of relaxing ourselves. That at least once in a while, we get to laugh and be merry. Laughter as said is the best medicine. But after seeing them perform, everything turns back to normal. back to the reality and the miseries that anyone have. I wonder how Vice and the other performers were able to do it. With the craft that they are good at, I believe that they are just special people who can brighten up someones day.

Damn, im excited in seeing him/her again.

All Saints Day

Last November 1, my family and I went to Davao Memorial park to commemorate the All Saints Day. Last year, I missed this event since I was still in Pampanga that time. The usual, together with my aunts, uncles and cousins went there to pray ( char! ), eat and have fun, i guess. It was drizzling that time. Good thing we brought with us our tents to shelter us from the rain and to avoid us from getting wet( exaggerated naman ni oist ). I didn't notice the time and realized that its already 1 in the morning.

My realizations for that day is that All Saints Day is a perfect day to cope and catch up with your relatives lives. Talking and chatting with them will keep you updated of what's going on with their lives. And the fact that nothing is permanent here on earth. That is something that we should be preparing of ( that's why I already got my memorial plan ). Spooky ayt? But its just the reality.

This is my first ever work using Adobe Photoshop CS3. Learning photoshop was really hard for me. Thanks to my sister for teaching me the basics. Basically my work above is so " pop art". I'm happy that at least, i know know how to use photoshop. THough through constant practice, I know that I will be soon good at it.

The usual Filipinos loves to drink. The feeling of being drunk, high and happy-go-lucky attitude is something most of the young people would love to do. Beer drinkers love the month of October since its Octoberfest. Overflowing beer, an array of mouth watering food and the ambiance to party all night long are the reasons why people loves Octoberfest. To be honest, im not a drinker. Im not a fan of those alcoholic drinks that gives me nothing but headache. But once in a while, I drink and just have fun. Last Saturday night, we went out with my friends and some of my high school buddies and had a great night. Sarah Geronimo is a pop sensation here in the Philippines. I saw her a couple of times already, recently just today in her mall show in NCCC for Charmee napkins. Hahahaha! Sarah has established her name and is the next big thing in showbiz. I am a fan of her and iv'e seen her evolved and developed as a performer. Her pang "masa" charm and the "from rags to riches" life captured the hearts of Filipinos and that includes me. Kudos to Sarah Geronimo! I just wish her success and may she continue to inspire people. Indeed, dreams really do come true.

Bowling + Shia Labeouf + KopiRoti = FUN!

Last Wednesday, my friend Mae texted me to drop by NCCC Mall to join them in playing bowling. Right after work, I immediately went straight to them to have an action-filled afternoon. Wearing my " so teacher and so kagalang-kagalang " attire which means barong and slacks, I played bowling with Mae, Joey, Mina and Dan. Since im really a bowling dummy, Dan helped me out and taught me some basics in bowling. After an hour of playing, I was able to get my first strike. Beat that huh!!! Or maybe just my lucky shot.

We then had our dinner and watched Shia Labeouf's movie. Eagle Eye was fun flick. Full of adrenaline rush and action packed scenes. The story was unique, has a twist and very catchy for me. Rosamel's friend, Beggy and Faith came and joined us that time. After watching the flick, my friends decided to go home and called it a day. Since Beggy was'nt able to eat dinner that time, we ( me, my sister and Beggy ) decided to have a little gastronomic adventure at Torres which ended up at KopiRoti. How's that having hot brewed coffee, kopi bun, french toast at night? Strange yet good. Just like having breakfast at midnight. And after that, we all called it a day.

"My Motherboard, My Self" is the title of one of season 4 episodes of Sex and the City. It is where Carrie's laptop broke, Miranda's mom died and Samantha lost her orgasm. I was in Carrie's situation before. My pc crashed and lost everything. Just like Carrie, im unaware of all the technical stuff like backing up, zip files and the like. I learned that its really important to have back ups. Not just on your pc but with your relationship in your life. In times that we are really down and feel like were about to give, we should have our back ups to bring us up again. The show indeed inspired me a lot. Aside from the fact that it brings out the smile in me, Sex and the City taught me a lot of things in life, in dealing with different kinds of people and on dealing with relationship.

I'm not a gamer. I'm not a fan of those PlayStation , Xbox360, Nintendo Wii stuff. But everything has changed. Recently, I just bought a pre- loved Sony Playstation portable as my early Christmas gift for my self. The moment I have it in my hands, that's the time I began acting like a real gamer. Right now, i'm currently hooked to God of War, GoPuzzle ( haha) and N4S Most Wanted. Aside from playing games, I can listen to music and watch videos on my Psp. The best part of it, I can connect to the internet everytime there's a hotspot or wifi access near me. Totally this gadget is multi- purpose and a good buy for me.

I belive that there is a child in every one of us. For me, playing this game console brings out the child in me.

Pumpkin's Birthday Party

October 17 is the special day of cutie Pumpkin, our cat. We celebrated his birthday with a bang. We prepared a simple yet fun-filled birthday party for him. Pumpkin is such a cutie and this is the first time we had thrown a party for our pet. Oh, how sweet of us. We all love Pumpkin. He is a part of our family and that is one thing that will never change.

This week was a disaster. I got good news and bad news. Good news is I got regularized or lets say I got the " permanent" status in DepEd. Who wouldnt be happy for that. But heres the catch. Ive been teaching since 1st week of August till mid October and just found out that I wont get anything from it. Due to unwanted circumstances, documents and papers were not filed to the upper management. I cant believe this just happened to me. I deserved to be paid since I gave all my time, the efforts and and its really not easy dealing with different kinds of people. It ended up as a charity work which is really not okay for me.

Now I am completely demotivated and uninterested with my work. I might consider quitting and moving on. I asked for signs and there were really some. I am completely pissed off and just want to scream loud!! Damn! Shit! F*ck! Sorry for those words., I just cant help it.
